Promotion of Earth Observation industries, notably those specialized in the use of high-resolution data from recent satellites for sustainable agriculture development, environmental conservation and security (food security, poverty and humanitarian aid in case of natural and man-made disasters).
Administration and management of complex development and research projects involving policy advice, institutional capacity building and training, and technical assistance related to rural development, forestry, livestock management, biodiversity conservation, desertification/land degradation and food security.

2001-present: 3 years of experience as technical advisor for the development of EO applications from high-resolution satellites for desertification and land degradation monitoring and early warning systems, food security and the assessment of vulnerability factors affecting ecosystems' services and poverty (China, Mongolia, Algeria, Senegal, Malawi);
1998-2000: 2 years of experience as FAO Chief Technical Advisor for the development of a regional capacity building program to enhance environmental policies through research, training and dissemination of information in East Asian countries in transition to a market economy (China, Vietnam, Myanmar and Mongolia);
1989-1998: 9 years of experience as World Bank Team Leader for the appraisal and supervision of natural resources management, rural development, biodiversity conservation, poverty alleviation and food security projects (12 countries in SSA);
1981-1989: 9 years of experience as FAO-Investment Center staff for the identification and preparation of rural development and environment conservation projects (17 countries in South and Southeast Asia, Middle East and Africa);
1975-1981: 6 years of experience as Electro-Watt Engineering Site Manager for the development of projects related to desertification control, sand dunes stabilization, windbreaks, irrigated agriculture, pastoral management, rice farm management and palm oil plantation (Libya-Iraq-Saudi Arabia-Senegal-CAR);
